Learn How John Paul Mitchell Systems is Offering Support During COVID-19 Posted: 18 May 2020 07:00 AM PDT Amid the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, leading professional beauty brands are stepping up to show their support. California-based John Paul Mitchell Systems (JPMS) is offering assistance initiatives and resources to help the hairstyling community. Salon Jumpstart Stimulus ProgramJPMS officially launched their Salon Jumpstart Stimulus program last month, which is a $4-million package that will supply salons with complimentary hair colour, backbar product, personal protective equipment (PPE) including hand sanitizer, digital support and educational opportunities. This program is designed to help salons and stylists get back up on their feet once it's time to return to work. Since its launch, the stimulus package continues to evolve and grow with new opportunities, including a new social platform built within Paul Mitchell's professional website. Back to Work Safety GuideJPMS has also launched a Back to Work Safety Guide, which is a social community centre that will provide salons and stylists with useful information and sanitation guidelines to help them navigate the new style of operations during and after COVID-19. When it comes time to officially reopen salons and get back into a regular routine, JPMS is concerned that there won't be enough proper safety measures in place for hairstylists and clients. With that in mind, the company is committed to working alongside governments and the salon community to review strategies and guidelines to ensure a successful reopening. Digital EducationIn light of this time of uncertainty, the importance of staying creative and informed on both the creative and business ends of the industry is top of mind. JPMS is working alongside their artistic directors and educators to provide digital education opportunities for stylists on the topics of styling, business-building and marketing on their new platform, Social Gathering. According to the company, Social Gathering "will be a dedicated platform within the professional website where like-minded stylists can go to watch, learn, share, contribute and grow with fellow salon professionals." Social Gathering will officially be launched early May and will have five content categories: Me Time, Creative Juices, Keep in Touch, Business School, and Ready, Set, Open. Producing and Donating Personal Protective EquipmentOutside of education and digital support, JPMS has also shifted their production plans to manufacture PPE, including masks and hand sanitizer, for salons and other communities in need. To-date, they've donated an additional 8,000 units of Paul Mitchell hand sanitizer to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, along with 28,000 units to other groups in need in their local community, including police officers, first responders and low-income families through the Baby2Baby program. For a limited time, the brand's hand sanitizer is also available for purchase online. |
